Polystyrene production means a pre-expander and granulate silos. Twenty large silos release pentane, an explosive gas that forces the space to be permanently ventilated. The solution combines ceiling suppression with suppression inside the breaker and control cabinets — we ran six suppression hoses into them for internal gas-side protection. In this environment, a switchboard is the most likely point of ignition.
